You may not need or miss a heated hose during the summer months because of the higher humidity.   The fall/winter seasons when the air is colder and drier is when it really comes into play.    The heated hose maintains a higher air temperature to prevent condensation from forming in the hose and mask.  The term for this condition is refereed to as: "Rainout".

You will want a heated hose. You may not use it as a heater all the time but when you need it and do not have it you will be unhappy.

I always thought I would just convert mine to heated hose if I ever felt it was needed. I haven't in 2.5 years. I suspect I will not.

But - everybody is different. Well, except me.
