RE: new member
G'day Matt, welcome to Apnea Board.

Given the size and firepower of your medical team, I'm hesitant to make any further suggestions. Wink However, I'm not sold on the benefits of the mouthguard appliance as an apnea treatment. I know a lot of people have good results with them, but we've also had people who develop mouth / jaw problems over time. The other issue is that the appliance has no way of monitoring your sleep to see if it's really achieving anything. A CPAP machine provides data which can be examined on a breath-by-breath basis to measure any apneas, hypopneas, snoring etc etc. And it's non-invasive and reversible. In your position, I'd consider at least raising this as an option with your team.

Anyhow, good luck with your treatment - let us know how it goes.
