no longer sure if still apnea-affected or just tired

RE: no longer sure if still apnea-affected or just tired
Here it is from last night.
It all seems to be going a lot better. Biggest problem I'm having at the moment is that I'm waking up very early, often with air rushing around my face. Other than that, though, I seem to be getting some sleep! :-)

Here we go. Gotta say, I feel pretty wrecked this morning. One of the problems I've always had is waking up early with air blowing into my face and it seemed worse last night! :-(

Tell us about the Air blowing in your face. Is it from the top of the mask or bottom?

In the top, I think. The mask feels like it's fitting well and the machine says the seal is good. So I'm not entirely sure what's happening!

For myself, I always would rather rely upon OSCAR leak rate graph than the PAP itself. I'm not saying you are, but be sure not to confuse the intentional leaking out the vent from unintentional leaks out the mask cushion. The leaks on the side, top, or bottom do need attention if/when they are large enough to bother you, disrupt sleeping, and when they get large enough to hinder PAP therapy. Ex. a ResMed leak redline is 24 L/min.

I despised the mask fit and PAP leak info on the machine itself as it was misleading almost all the time, it seemed different than OSCARs leak info. So I stuck with one datapoint only.

Have you watched this
https://youtu.be/n83IJnP1wyY
I put on the mask
I find I need to turn the machine on.
Then pull the entire thing out like in the video.

Also the Resmed seems to be more for a oval head or skinny face

The dreamwear seems better for a rounded head or more of a chubby face.

These are just my thoughts

I can send you some pictures tomorrow

Ok, I'm going to recommend that if you watch the video you consider it what NOT to do.

You want to lie there cute all propped up on those big pillows like a total princess? Sure, just make sure you don't fall asleep that way! You'll have massive positional apnea, events slamming in one after another!

And if you sleep on your back with a nice thin pillow that will allow you to actually breathe, then you've got to turn the hose on the top of your head to the side or the elbow is hard enough that the mattress will push the mask off your face.

And it almost never helps to tighten the straps when you've got leaks. The mask needs to "float" on your face to keep sealed. Usually what's needed is to shift it a bit one direction or another. The way to shift is to pull the mask straight out and then lower it slowly so it goes straight towards your face.

Wearing PAP masks aren't hard really. Even a dog can get it right.
