resScan 6.0.0.9799 [problem running on VM]
[attachment=9184]I'm having trouble getting ResScan 6 to work on my pc VM.  I don't have a windows machine so run windows on my MacBook.  It sees the SD card as the E drive.

I can see the settings successfully for my CPAP S9 elite, but when I try to download, it just says: Summary Data(Error during download)

Is there a way to find out what the error is?  Is there a log file somewhere to check out?

Is there any way to manually copy the contents to a folder on the pc and read from that?

Thanks in advance, Greg.

RE: resScan 6.0.0.9799
We can try to figure it out.

What Windows OS are you emulating in your VM? I haven't seen an error log but ResScan will write events to the application event log. If your emulated Windows VM has the eventvwr.msc you can try looking there in the application log.
Using FlashAir W-03 SD card in machine. You can download your data through wifi with FlashPAP or Sleep Master utilities.

Stick it to the man, Download OSCAR and take back control of your data!

Thanks Ian. Like I didn't have enough Honey-Do projects to tackle. Mornincoffee

If it has PowerShell (doubtful) you can try this in a PS shell to display events for ResScan in command line:

Get-EventLog -Log "Application" -Source "ResScan"

RE: resScan 6.0.0.9799
Thanks for your willingness to offer help. I'm using windows 7.

Here's the powershell output, below. The multiple errors occur because of my repeated attempts. I truncated the output from when I was failing to logon properly.

Should I try using a version SD card or something? Load the files from my SD to a knows working SD card simulator (if such a thing exists).

Thanks, Greg.

RE: resScan 6.0.0.9799 [problem running on VM]
When you installed ResScan, did you elect to install any of the three device drivers?

They're listed as:
1) ResMed S9 USB Adapter (P/C: 36950) or ResMed S8 USB Adapter (P/C: 22203)
2) ResMed's ResScan Data Card Reader (P/C: 22207) or ACR 38U Smart Card Reader
3) ResMed Stellar ventilator machine with direct USB connection

RE: resScan 6.0.0.9799 [problem running on VM]
I missed your reply and just came around to try this again. I tried installing on another PC with windows XP and had no luck there either, so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong?

In any case, to answer your specific question, I did not elect any drivers, since they didn't seem to apply. Should I select one?

Thanks in advance.

Best, Greg.

In case AlanE can't respond quickly, let me say DO NOT install any of the optional drivers during the ResScan installation.
See at the bottom of this post for more info, quoted here:

Quote:INSTALLATION WARNING:

During the first part of the software installation, it will ask you if you want to install their 3 proprietary drivers.  DO NOT CHECK any of the 3 boxes for these drivers, unless you have one of the following three ResMed-brand devices:

  1) ResMed S9 USB Adapter (P/C: 36950) or ResMed S8 USB Adapter (P/C: 22203)

  2) ResMed's ResScan Data Card Reader (P/C: 22207) or ACR 38U Smart Card Reader

  3) ResMed Stellar ventilator machine with direct USB connection

Some users have reported that installing these drivers makes the ResScan program non-functional. If you're not sure what to do, try installing the software without the drivers first to see if the program runs properly without them.

I'll let AlanE or others reply regarding your VM issues, as they are more knowledgable on that than I am.
