s9 elite "motor life exceeded",contact service rep.
I've also  got the  message "motor life exceeded. Please contact service representative" . Unfortunately I viewed this message Sat noon, called and got a phone answered to schedule a Monday call and visit. Sort of upsetting since I'm at a serious level for just a cpap, @ 17 cm and have interrupted breathing often to 10 times per minute. A no smoking home by the way.
The answer I red on this post suggests getting a new unit. I would have thought a resmed s9 Elite would be designed for more that the 5+ years of daily use.
Thanks I just hope this is covered by my insurance durable medical equipment of 15% coinsurance, and in process of checking it out[if they have people on duty with experience to answer my explicit Q on copay

They have a 5 year design life. That's 5 x 365 x 8 = about 15,000 hours. Plus design margin.

I think that message is just a warning. Coded into firmware to display at about 22,000 hours.
Barring any actual failed parts, the machine may still be good to use until a replacement can be obtained.

Give it a try.

i would expect insurance might cover it depending on your plan

should be possible to replace the motor for less than a new machine

You will be covered, but don't let anyone talk you into doing more sleep studies because that would bust the budget. If you can, get copies of your old sleep study. Let your doctor know you have used your machine daily and benefit from CPAP. Try not to get referred to a "sleep specialist". There is no reason your primary doctor cannot prescribe a replacement auto CPAP. A specialist is much more likely to want to do unnecessary studies.

The current replacement machine for your S9 is the Resmed Airsense to Autoset. Since you use a high pressure setting, the Autoset would allow you to set a lower auto CPAP pressure of 12-20 and you would get very good treatment, with low pressure when it is suitable and high pressure when you need it. The new machine would have full data so you can verify it is working as needed. Avoid getting the Resmed Airsense 10 CPAP which does not have data.

My insurance will replace my s9 which stated "motor life exceeded", last sleep study 6 years ago, and insurance doesn't need a study as this is a replacement[not repair] of my s9, just a Rx from my sleep doc. Doctor wood like to do a study, and I may do it in a year or 2. I want to make sure at my age[75+] that I don't need more serious help with my severe apnia.
thx 4 all the help, it worked..Bub

Download SleepyHead and post your data (See my sig)
We would love to see what you are showing.

My suggestion would be to show data from your S9 and if we see anything needful we will direct you to your Dr or to a higher level machine.

I say this because your pressure is at 17. Titration Protocol calls for evaluation for BiPAP if pressure is over 15.
