Here's something to make you feel better: At least your spouse does not tease you by calling you Hannibal Lectern like mine did at the beginning! Anyway, I feel so much better now 2 months into treatment that I tease him back by telling him I'd rather sleep with my machine than with him! As long as you can laugh together, it will be fine!

For some folks the improvement is quick. Not so for others.
In some cases, there are other things going on. You were sleeping 15 hours.
That level of inactivity perhaps has put weight on you. Perhaps that's the next thing to tackle.
Some people have other conditions that are secondary to sleep apnea.
Perhaps diabetes?

Think of it like a car. You fixed the carburetor; but now the ignition system needs to be worked on.

Glass half full or half empty?

In only a month's time you've gone from sleeping 15 hours a day down to 8-10? Bravo!

Onward & upwards!

Good job with the system k_.

As to the tiredness later? It'll probably get better. I confess though that I sit in my comfy chair and take a 15-20 power nap almost every day. I enjoy it just about as much as I enjoy sleeping at night, so I'll keep doing it. Besides, I'm very old -- so I can do whatever I want.... Blah!!!

Ah-ha! So your car does have a carburetor! I knew it. What's an ignition system, and do I have one?

Yes, you do my old friend. But, for an old Sailor, it's a Zippo lighter.

I have days where I want to nap and days I don't. The difference is I don't "need" to nap because of a hard crash in the afternoon. Everyone will have good and bad days. Just keep the faith.

Hi k_ogre,
You're doing great, I know you want all this to happen yesterday, but you have made much progress in a month, even though it doesn't seem like it.
Keep up the good work, hang in there with it.

k_ogre,
We wouldn't be human if we didn't want everything NOW! But trust me, it gets better. I went from (pre CPAP days) form 2 to 3 hours of unrestful sleep to now where I have to set my alarm just to wake me up. I could sleep 10 hours if I let myself. I guess I like CPAP that much!
Most days, I don't feel tired at all, but there are still those few times when I feel like a nap.
Hang in there!
