RE: sleep apnea & seizures
I might have the same problem with sleep apnea and seizures. I was prescribed using BiPAP at night and also taking anti-seizure medications like Keppra.

I know of no cases with CPAP or OSA actually causing seizures. Severe OSA could do that resulting in oxygen deprivation and thus causing seizures but that would be uncommon.

Seizures are a known cause of Central Apnea.

1. I don't know your medical history, so can only reply on what I know.
2. seizures do occur during the day in addition to during sleep

Do you monitor your Oxygen numbers? Your O2 levels could be dropping during the snoring as that can indicate flow limits and hypopneas.

RE: sleep apnea & seizures
this won't be very helpful but coincidentally I just read that movements in sleep may sometimes suggest seizures. incontinence as well (the subject of another recent thread). the article did not say anything about an association between seizures and apnea but that wasn't he subject of the article.

Hi Timkay
thanx for sharing infos & hope u r doing great.
I wanted to stress the idea that u become 100% sure that keppra is the best choice for u>>u have the right to know about its side effects (especially personality changes to the worse & their effect on your beloved ones)..Besides, did u consult a maxillofacial , ENT , sleep neuromedicine doctors about the exact cause of those seizures?? is there any other cause for sleep apnea ? didi u perforn ct scan for the head ?

Please , check all the above before settling on keppra or other antiepileptics

best wishes

Bonjour, thanx alot.
Your explanation seems very plausible.
Then let me ask u about this :
Do u know of a brand of cpap nasal mask that does not fit loosely to the nose , so it doesnt move & obstruct inbreath while sleeping?
with pictures if u will.
 Best wishes

Thank u Sheepless Thanks
