I meant 12-16 with the f20 and the collar. Lets get rid of the variables for the night. I think you will be close to good numbers.

RE: soft cervical collar replaces cpap?
Good morning..
i had a painful night with my F20 FFM and the cervical collar. The leckages were less, but the other results are not as good as I expected. I had better results with the N20. (AHI, pressure...) And a much better feeling. I need so much pressure on the F20 mask, to get it sealed (using mask test) The ramp is starting now at 7 mbar.
I cannot attach screenshot here anymore, because I already used the quota of 512KB, so I make a new thread, called "my leckages"
Sorry, it´s same by using a new thread, so I did not make the new thread. How can I solve this problem?

upload to http://imgur.com and post the picture. the forum has limited storage allocated for each person.
It may not be the right mask for you. I use a f-20 and any mask doesn't need much pressure to seal. The f20 wouldn't suit everyone, I would go back to your DME for a mask fitting. AND read this http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php...ask_Primer
we will back off and do one thing at a time....for tonight try the nasal mask and the collar, this will show if you are getting positional obstructions coming from neck position

Here is the screenshot with the F-20 and the soft cervical collar:

RE: soft cervical collar replaces cpap?
why not ditch the ramp, or set it at 10 or 11? it should clue you in on mask leak potential early enough to do some tightening. also realize that cloth pads between mask and cheeks makes leaks less and also less noticeable.

RE: soft cervical collar replaces cpap?
Hi,
I shall use the N-20 tonight together with the collar (as ajack recommended) but I suppose I will get large lecks again, even if i do not know, where they are coming from? I feel very comfortable with the N-20, much more than with the F-20, where I always have the problem that I have to tighten it (so i feel uncomfortable and get marks on my face next day), otherwise you hear the air coming out (whisteling), i never hear this with the N-20. Also the P10 pillow mask, i tried it (and have it) but i always have large leaks with it.
For the ramp, i really do not need it, so i shall skip the ramp totally.(I think, quiescence at last recommend this, if i understand correct).
For the cloth pads, maybe i come later back to this, i never tried it, but it is possilbe that it will work for me, because I am 60 years and my cheeks are not taut any more...
So I shall report tomorrow...
Thank all for your help Christian

I wouldn't trust the nasal AHI numbers with such large leaks. The machine has a mask fit function which blows a higher pressure to help you fit your mask. That along with the link below should help a lot. some tape their mouths to stop leaks.
What I was actually hoping was the the tidal volume would come up with the f20. It is still staying around 400, which is fine if you are under 5 foot, an average sized male is over 500. Do you have any lung or breathing issues?

Here is the report of tonight, using N20 and cervical collar, no ramp
http://imgur.com/a/6BjQz
i checked tiding volume of all my records (more than 30 now) it was always and with all masks at about same level. I have a average nasal septum distortion and I had a small operation of my lung (tuberculoma) more than 30 years ago. But my pulmonary doc says that i have no troubles with it, nearly 100%.
I think for next night i take all settings like today, I should get a chin strap tomorrow, so I can try out this...
RE: soft cervical collar replaces cpap?
when you get the large leaks your tidal volume drops off, but when you have good leaks, it is still low and along with the respiration rate of 18, I'd bring it up with your doctor, next time you go. I don't know how long it's been since you were titrated, But I would ask if a bpap sleep study titration would be in order, depending on your insurance.
