sore nose
Hallo apnea colleagues,

I'm using a Swift FX Mask since 4 weeks.

The treatment is ok - AHI >1 but there is a problem with my nose !

Since the fist day I'm struggling with a sore nose. This is very uncomfortable .

Is there anybody with the same probleme ??

Greeting from Germany

Midi

its common with nasal pillows
Lansinoh HPA cream used by breast feeding mothers for cracked nipples does provide some soothing relief
just a dab on cotton bud, rub inside of the nose

This could also be caused (or aggravated) by incorrect adjustment of the mask. Although it seem counterintuitive, looser is usually better with the Swift FX. Fewer leaks and less soreness. I suggest you experiment with adjustment of the headband and back strap. Also, many people find that the nose just naturally gets more tolerant of the mask over time. Keep trying and good luck.

I had the same problem with the quattro (old version). My nose got so bad I had to take 20 days off to let my badly damaged nose heal. That's when I found the Respironics FitLife Total face mask. That mask spared my nose, but has moved my bottom teeth closer together in the front.
Try a bandaid on your nose, or moleskin on the mask, but do get it healed up or it will get worse as you use the same mask.
Good luck,
Mary

Hi midi, What zonk said.
The HPA lanolin cream works wonders if you use nasal pillows.
Best of luck.
