Updating Profile [in OSCAR]

Question
Updating Profile [in OSCAR]
Would someone know how to change your Machine Model in your OSCAR profile.
I was going to create a new profile but am afraid that if I do I would lose all my data prior to using the new machine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated with thanks.

RE: Updating Profile
The profile information in OSCAR does not affect the machine data and you can safely make any changes. The data is stored under your profile user name in a folder that identifies the machine by serial number and nothing you can do to your profile information changes that. That is also the reason that OSCAR locks out changes to the user-name and nothing else.

RE: Updating Profile
The Machine Model is detected from reading the SD card. If it the first time, then a new folder is created (within the same profile) for the new machine. This is automatic, you don't need to do anything. The only problem is that there are some preferences that are forced for ResMed machines - these are stored in the user preferences file, so they apply to any non-ResMed machines. This not necessarily bad, but it reduces the options available for the non-ResMed machines. This is why we recommend that you create a new profile for a new machine from a different company.
If you new machine is from the same company as the old - or even of it is not - you don't need to do anything - just import the new data.
