I use the new style standard top and the stainless bottom of cleanable tank ... viva la differance Coffee

That collar with the latches is very tricky to get to line up on the stainless steel tub. I find that I have to push upward from the bottom of the tub to get the latches to go all the way up to line up with the pegs on the plastic top of the tub. Wow, I hope that made sense, (Ha-Ha-Ha,) good luck with it, me50.

This happened to me the second time I washed it. The plastic had just slipped down. You need to push it up to the top of the silver container thingy. It happens regularly. I think it's the hot water that causes it.

I had that happen too. Had not realized that the bottom section is actually two parts. Once you realize that the collar with the tabs can move down the bottom tray and that you can move it back up, although it is tight and doesn't always move easily, it makes it much easier.

it doesn't move easily and I don't have the patience to spend the time to try and get it back in the position that it should be in. too much work and too time consuming. lol

It gets easier each time. Also easier when still wet and warmer.

I think the marketing department wants folks to buy new tanks more often.

You,ll get the same thing with the spare, just rinse the heating plate with hot water and it becomes easier to lift the plastic latch to the top

Once I got the hang of the latching mechanism on that tank, it's not a big deal, really. It is easier to deal with if it is wet and warmer.
