Best night yet! - lmoretti - 07-02-2015

AHI this morning was 1.1!

On Monday I joined the APAP Rebels and switched my machine from Fixed 9cm to Auto 8-12cm. This was to try to deal with the clusters I seemed to still be having o fixed pressure.

Monday & Tuesday night were so-so nights. The AHI was a bit lower than normal but still not well. My wife commented that I was "leaking" a lot more and it was keeping her up. Pulled the data into Sleepyhead last night and saw my leaks skyrocket into the 40+l/minute as my machine upped the pressure to deal with events.

So last night I put on the chinstrap I got in case I had issues with mouth leaks. Took a while to get used to having it on. It felt tight even though I've got it as loose as it goes (I've got a big head) but got comfortable and fell asleep and stayed out until my son wandered in about 4 am. Took a bathroom break and crashed out again until my alarm went off at 6:15.

Will be interested to see how the rest of the nights go this weekend and then pull the data. Bit worried as the machine did hit 12cm on Tuesday night and I still had an obstructive (which also coincided with a BIG leak spike).

That's the way to keep after it. Things will settle down and seem more normal as you get used to it. You may eventually learn to seal off the air so you don't need to chin strap, but if not, you may find you're better off in a FFM. Good luck.

Hi lmoretti,
It's great to hear that you had a good night, (best yet,) good job and keep up the good work.
