Mirage Quattro question - Jim Bronson - 09-03-2015

This will be my first time with a FF mask. After trying it today, one question comes to mind. I noticed that if I open my mouth, my cheeks puff out due to the air rushing in. If this happens during sleep, it could awaken me. But if I open, then close my mouth before going to sleep, the pressure will be trapped inside my mouth, so if I open it again during sleep, there won't be as much "ballooning" effect. Is that what most users do?

The mask fits pretty well with no leaks so far. I just need to get used to the strong exhaust air stream.

Any other tips for this mask will be appreciated.

Thanks.

My favorite mask. Are you using the ResMed Mirage FX or the ResMed Mirage Quattro?
The Quattro has an adjustable forehead brace.

Place tongue at roof of mouth with mouth closed and teeth in normal contact.
That can seal air from entering the mouth. Takes some time to Pavlov to hold that position.

I do not think that works that way.

It's the Quattro with the forehead adjustment. I can see that it will take a lot of getting used to.
