Airsense S10 Autoset with heated humidifier. - Visitor - 10-26-2015

Is anyone using the Airsense S10 Autoset with heated humidifier?

Are there any issues I should know of before going with this option?

Some compliant about noise but that is expected with any machine
Just some people are more sensitive than others, or maybe being fussy Smile

Try before you buy and go with "AutoSet for Her" model, same price as the AutoSet but have something extra and the colour is different

The AirSense 10 autoset comes with the humidifier. You don't have a choice there even though a DME will charge you for it as if it was a separate item. You would need to spend more to buy the humidifier delete that plugs the side to use the A10 without the humidifier.

So, you can't use it without the humidifier? Can you switch the humidifier off?

Can you change the hose for a regular one if needed?

You can turn off the humidifer and just keep the water tank empty (though I don't know why you would want to). I believe the user above was just trying to tell you that this unit comes with an attached humidifer - it is not peripheral. I highly recommend using the humidifier, as it makes therapy a lot more comfortable and, dare I say, effective.

Also, you can use it without a heated hose, but again, I'm not sure why you would want to. The heated hose and humidifier work together to create optimum humidity without rainout, at least in Auto Climate Control mode. I actually don't use that mode, though, because I like a higher humidity setting and hose temperature, depending on the time of year and weather.

I currently have a humidifier, but never put on the heat. I just put in the water and that serves me fine. I do have trouble with rainout at times, so a heated hose sounds great.

The AirSense 10 has a built-in humidifier and does not work without the water tank inserted on the side of the machine, also there is $20 side cover replaces the water tank and you won't have ever to worry about humidity selections or rainout

If using the water tank, you can turn off humidity and the heater plate does not warm-up, without filling the tank with water, or some water as in passover mode (moisture but no heat)

When the heated hose connected, the machine automatically recognize it and switches to SlimeLine hose. If you're using the SlimLine hose or Standard hose, you'll need to select the type of the hose in the clinical menu ... easy-peasy

All explained in the clinical manual http://www.apneaboard.com/resmed-airsense-10-aircurve-10-setup-info

I basically have one shot at this. I'm in a country where the DM/specialist offers one brand. I will talk to the specialist prior to purchase, but I'm buying on my own account (insurance does not cover cpap/apap treatment).
