Still struggling with Mask - Hollyboop - 11-20-2015

Hi Everyone:
The mask I have been using was leaking air and squeaking and waking me up. I requested the ComfortGel Mask. The DME was pretty nice and gave me one. It seemed like it fit snugger and I was encouraged.
Unfortunately, it is leaving a bruise on the bridge of my nose. I tried adjusting it and padding it with gauze but it was too painful. I removed the blue ComfortGel and inserted it into my original face mask. It was a much better fit and didn't pinch my nose, but the seal wasn't perfect and it leaked air. I now also have a sinus infection and am on antibiotics and nasal steroids. UGH! My glasses are resting on the tender spot on my nose that the mask pinched. Ouch.
Now what mask do I go after? I have read about other people loving the Dream-something mask. Should I ask for that? I have a small face and small mouth.
Thank you for your kind interest and wisdom.

Hollyboop, the conventional full face masks are all going to seal across the bridge of the nose, and that's not working for you right now. If you really can't tolerate nasal therapy (pillows), then there are hybrid masks by innoMed or Resmed that consist of nasal pillow interface and a mouth cover. Nothing on the bridge of your nose. The Respironics Amara FFM similarly does not cover the nose bridge. Might be a solution.

Did you ever try nasal pillows to rule out that they won't work?

Holly-the dream-something mask is the Philips Respironics DreamWear CPAP Mask. Great mask as long as your nose isn't plugged up! Quick YouTube vid gives you the general idea.

I am now using the ResMed Airflow F10 size medium. It's no longer leaking so I think I'm good with the mask.

What did you do to correct the leak problem?
