Dust caused SD card problem - justMongo - 01-27-2016

Yesterday, I pulled my SD card and inserted it into the slot of my Dell 8700. It seemed to recognize that a card was in the slot; I say that because the icon to eject appeared in the taskbar.

I could not access the card. I would click on the H drive in Computer and get the message "Insert media into H drive." (Or words to that effect.)

Being a negative pressure case, dust seems to accumulate in the slot. So, with a can of Dustoff, I blew out the slot. Problem solved.

The reader assembly needs a filter or cover.

They count on that slot to provide air cooling for the computer Smile
