How to fix leaks - Rip and Rosie - 04-20-2016
I have been on CPAP since January and use an Eson mask.
Sleepy Head gives me an average leak rate of 4.08 last night and 4.24 past week.
I can't fix it.
Last month it was 3.34, so thinking I could fix it I tightened the straps....made it worse.
Then I used a mask liner...... made it heaps worse.
I don't understand the leak rate data, with the 90% and the above threshold etc.... average suits me, so I check that
I'm not even sure what the target should be.
Can anyone give me a quick lesson on "Leaks for Dummies" ?

I have the Eson and Sleepyhead says my leak rate is close to zero (last night 90% was 0 and Max was 1)! My guess is that it is either the wrong size or you have the straps too tight. Looser straps let the silicon "bubble" inflate and seal. I tried Remzzz and it make it worse for me too.

There is a leak rate for your machine, below which you will get good therapy and the machine can do everything it is supposed to do.
As long as leaks are below this level and they are not interrupting your sleep don't worry about them.
Even the slightest leak used to wake me and now maybe once a week I look at the data to see how I did
For me the attention to leaks was because I had not yet learned to trust the machine.
