Mask Leak Improved - kwhenrykerr - 06-16-2016

Short Version of Story: I raised my min. pressure and the mask leaks went away. Eat-popcorn

Long Version of Story: Reading this Great Form has helped me to understand better my cpap. The Dr. set 5-15 as my needs. This I used and read this form. I raised my low side to 7 and left the high alone. This helped lower my AHI. I was happy with that Thanks all of you that write on this stuff. After a couple of weeks of looking at Sleepyhead with the new setting I saw that at times my AHI would be under 5. Eat-popcorn

Well I got brave and raised my low side to 9 Yikes. The first thing I felt was that the mask stuck to my face with NO LEAKS. After using the new setting of 9-15 my AHI is now around 2. ThanksThanks You guys are the best.

Has anyone else had this happen ?

Hi kwhenrykerr,
It's great to hear that you are doing so well with your therapy, keep up the good work.

Yes, raising my minimum from 8 to 10 (closer to the 90% pressure) reduced my AHI. And getting used to the pressure over weeks reduced it more (I think, nothing else changed, well, other than some nasal surgery). There are lots of variables here and it is hard to control for just one with a live person strapped to the mask.
