SleepyHead Fedora 24 packages - johanh - 06-26-2016

Hi there. I've created Fedora 24 rpm packages of SleepyHead 1.0.0 Beta 2, latest git (32- and 64-bit). They are available on my blog. Sorry, can't post links yet. https:// baldpenguin.blogspot.com /2016/06/sleepyhead-fedora-rpm-package.html

The rpms have desktop file (shortcut) and icons, too.

There is a spec file and patch to create the rpm directly from git source. I'm still trying to figure out how to make the spec file cleaner. I have little experience of rpm building and spec files and some comments would be appreciated. I'm especially wondering how to add the translations.

Building the 32-bit rpm is awkward, because some of the required devel packages are conflicting, so it is only possible to build with either set installed (32 or 64-bit).

In the long run making it Fedora compliant would be nice. Not sure what is needed for that, but I guess my "hacked" spec file is not quite acceptable yet.

Probably linking to system quazip libs completetely instead of the included ones is also required. Don't really understand how to change that (yet) in sleepyhead.pro.

I don't know if anyone is interested, but I have updated the Fedora rpm package and included translation files (also updated and cleaned up the Swedish translation).

I'm using SleepyHead daily. It is only my second week as a CPAP user, but I'm impressed with the work put into this software. I'm down to 2.75 AHI last night, but still struggling to sleep with the mask (I'm sure this is something every one on this forum is familiar with).

I'll try to put up a git repo and try to get some of my patches into the main branch if possible.

Sleep-well

RE: SleepyHead Fedora 24 packages - johanh - 07-05-2016

I've created a Fedora 24 Copr repository:
https ://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/johanh/sleepyhead/

This means you can install SleepyHead from command line with:

sudo dnf copr enable johanh/sleepyhead
sudo dnf install sleepyhead

As long as the repository is enabled, you will also receive any updates when updating your system.

johanh,
I want to say "Thank You" for your efforts. I do not use Fedora and will not be using your software but I do admire your time and effort on this project and then sharing it with others.

Again, Kiitos

There is now also a CentOS 7 package (or Redhat EL 7) of SleepyHead 1.0.0 Beta 2.

Installation instructions are on the same page: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/johanh/sleepyhead/

Nice work! Smile

RE: SleepyHead Fedora 24 packages - crecker - 07-29-2016

I want to give a shout out to you and the original developer of Sleepyhead for your efforts. Great application and thank you for making the rpm package. I'm also a developer ( not a very good one ) so I know the time it can take to work on things like this. Keep up the great work, it is appreciated!

Thank you Johanh,

I did a bunch of compiling of SleepyHead for fedora back in the early days when Mark was a
fedora user and provided me with guidance. However both SleepyHead and Fedora kept
changing and I kept falling behind in dependencies for compiling and using.

I much appreciate your effort to make a Fedora repo for SleepyHead and to
build rpm's. I've installed both the repo and SH but have not yet set it up
to run with my cpap data. Soon.

Thanks again.
