PLEASE HELP ASAP with DOT Physical - Schneidersas - 07-24-2016

Please help ASAP! My husband is a truck driver in the great state of Illinois. One of his requirements in obtaining his new DOT physical this year is to either have a sleep study or bring in a 30 day usage report. He has been successfully using cpap for almost 30 years now. His current machine is a Remstar Auto-A-flex 550p. I have been trying to figure out what I need to order so that he can print out a 30 day usage report but I'm totally confused!!!! Can someone please tell me what I need??? Thank you!

you need a card reader for the SD card in the machine, and the Respironics software you can get from the downloads area of this site. If you have a recent laptop, Card reader is likely built in.

Hi Schneidersas,
Is there an SD card in the back of the machine? If not, you need to buy one.

If you have an SD card, then you can download the SleepyHead Software and import the data from the card into the software.

This software also works with your husband's machine:

Sleepyhead is better for figuring out if the therapy is optimal, but the Respironics software is what you should use to give to DOT. They would consider it to be more official.

Hi Schneidersas,

If the machine doesn't have an SD memory card in it and needs a new one, buy a card which is the physically larger standard (original) size, not the newer (and much more common) mini or micro size SD card.

For example, WalMart in my area sells for around US$12 a two-pack of standard size SD cards holding 2 GB (two Giga Byte) each.

May be good to avoid SD cards holding more than 2GB because some of the older machines only work with SD cards having 2GB or less capacity.

I'm not sure what SD card to buy?

Look at the machine, it probably came with one. Look for a slot to the left of where the power cord goes in. Likely it has a card; and you have 30 days data already.

One like this would work:

You can find those anywhere. Grocery stores, drug stores, any department store with an electronics department, even some convenience stores.

Depends on how quickly you need it.
