Dreamstation auto - two nights results - stephennic - 08-10-2016

Hi all,
I was having a noise issue with a fixed pressure dreamstation and the sleep tech noted it seems noisier than usual so swapped for a auto machine. Now most noise is gone. I have had my best sleep so far the last two night and the figures for it are:
First night: 7.2 hrs, AHI 6.5, mask fit 100% , periodic breathing 0 and 90% pressure 8. The second night:
5.5 Hrs, AHI 7, mask fit 78%, periodic breathing 0, 90% pressure 9.
I found I slept better the first night. Just want to interpret the figures correctly.
Mask fit : 78% does that mean I had mask leaks, I did wake up 3 times.
90% pressure what is that?
AHI is a little high but better on first night?
Any thoughts? I will download better software soon either encore or sleepyhead. Are they both free? Do I just get the card out of the machine and put in the computer to read the stats
Thanks in advance.
Cheers
Steve

AHI not bad, but could be better. If you really want to interpret your data, download the free SleepyHead software, then post a couple screenshots here. Without seeing detailed data, like the breakdown of AHI, it would be a guessing game to give advice. SleepyHead will show you if you are having leaks, whether it be from mask or mouth breathing.

I can answer the 90% question. This is the pressure you were at for 90% of the night and under.
Note the "and under" .... You didn't give us your pressure range, so don't know how low the pressure may have gone. Again SleepyHead will show you this data.

Thanks, pressure range is 6.5 to 10.
It was set at 6 to 12 by sleep physician, but I found 6 was to low and felt as if i couldn't get enough air so I readjusted it to 6.5 to 10, now much better slept with an hour of lying down. Originally had set pressure at 9 on a fixed machine, recommendation from sleep test that was done. Tried for weeks with whine noise going up tube into mask. I nearly gave up. I finally took it back and said this noise is driving me bats even though i did try a coupe mods which helped a bit. They agreed it had more noise than usual so gave me another machine to try and I am glad I persisted, much less noise now.
Now will keep going. I haven't needed a nap after work which is a positive sign. Smile
Cheers
