finally first night of success - jxyzobrien - 08-18-2016 resmed autoset h5i s9 series positive airway pressure device with humidifier nasal mask pressure changed 12 to 16 (doctor prescribed 14) I finally found videos showing me how to set pressure and look at my sleep stats. I reset pressure to 13.8. I slept for 3.5 hours (had to pee) and AHI was 1.5 meaning less then 2 apneas per hour. This also means my leak problem is fixed. resmed set air pressure cpap https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PoTJOQa7DYA looking at important stats https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lpC5LDFc8w RE: finally first night of success - holden4th - 08-18-2016 One big step on the road to sleeping bliss. Well done, that aha moment is a great experience. RE: finally first night of success - srlevine1 - 08-18-2016 Rinse and repeat and you are well on your way to success. Best of luck. RE: finally first night of success - jxyzobrien - 08-18-2016 thanks for helping Still adjusting this is the best apnea in the world 2 questions 1-ahi 5 or less means no significant air leaks yes no 2- read where if your mouth opens with air gushing out (have chin strap) the pressure is still too high 3-read where sleeping on your side keeps ahi lower then on your back RE: finally first night of success - icyura10 - 08-18-2016 (08-18-2016, 08:05 AM)jxyzobrien Wrote: thanks for helping Still adjusting I wouldn't draw that conclusion... generally my AHI according to both SH and ResScan present my AHI's in the 1-2 range or less per hour but my leak rate is simply astronomical See here: http://imgur.com/a/Ulotu (08-18-2016, 08:05 AM)jxyzobrien Wrote: 2- read where if your mouth opens with air gushing out (have chin strap) the pressure is still too high When I first started using a CPAP in 1998, I used a nasal mask. (I still can't tolerate a FFM). Every night I would be woken up because all my life I'd been a mouth breather. Over time, I just trained myself to KEEP MY BIG TRAP SHUT when I slept. It's a constant vigilance, but in time, you can teach yourself to keep your mouth closed. Other forms of apneas, for the most part, don't seem to follow any real pattern related to sleep position. But I ain't no freakin' Dr, nor researcher, it's just what I've read ... and so far it seems to be a fairly consistent representation... Of course, as always, YMMV!
