Slow reading of SD Disc-EncoreViewer2 - Robbo511927 - 09-20-2016
Download from SD Disc takes about 20 minutes with further 30+ minutes to view report (for previous week).
Have used CPAP for past 5 years, reviewing sleep history weekly, so I have assumed system is retrieving full five years each time I look at it.
Tried creating another "Patient" but to no avail.
With an expectation of life of 4.63 years, on average, I can't afford to fritter it away watching the computer busy wheel go around.
Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with EncoreViewer2.
Not sure which RemStar you have, but you will probably have better luck with
Encore Basic and SleepyHead. SleepyHead gives more detail.

Can't see great interest from others in the topic, but perhaps not many monitor their performance on a weekly basis.

No, actually just the opposite. Most of us look at our data weekly and some daily.
Here's the thing....and I could be incorrect in this, but EncoreViewer2 is software that is marketed for DME's and suppliers. I don't think it is available to the patient, nor would they consider selling it to you.
EncoreBasic is used for most PR Respironics cpaps and EncorePro for the new DreamStation.
If you like looking at data, you will be happier with SleepyHead.

I agree with Rose. I haven't used EncoreViewer2. I have, however, used both EncorePro and SleepyHead with my DreamStation. Both will load your data and display it very quickly. They both give detailed views of your data.
EncorePro is meant to handle multiple profiles as well as most other aspects of a sleep clinic and comes with a lot of excess baggage for what we use it for. I like SleepyHead because it is easy on system resources, has an interface that is well laid out, easy to use and easy to customize. It displays your data in a easy to read and understand format. It is also much faster than EncorePro.

Hi Pupcamper & Rose . It's a long story. Encore Viewer edition is March 2010, purchased in USA under scrip from sleep specialist, just after requirement that such items could only be dispensed if properly prescribed.
I am back in Australia where local Respironics does not supply or support such items.
Re Encore Pro - don't ask, and I am not persisting with it. strictly mea culpa!
I'll follow your advice and try Sleepyhead.

Not familiar with Encore Viewer, but with Basic and Pro I discovered something after complaining about the slow download and report generation speeds of the programs. When generating a report they actually work much faster if you have the all data check marked, rather than trying to do a report for a selected period of time. I use the all dates (some 4 years on the current card) to generate a detail report that I then save in PDF. I then pull the wave form (which has to be done daily) and save it. I then use Adobe to extract that days detail and add it to the front of the wave form. Save it again with a new name (I call my <date> DAY REPORT), and when saving tell ADOBE to save it in a reduced file size to make it easier to send to DR.
I only run a report with specified dates if I want to see a specific trend, and yes, then you sit and wait. You can also put in a new SD card and the machine will put only the past 90 days on it, which will speed things up, until it gets more data, which slows the process.

Last time I put in new SD card REMStar loaded it up with its full five year history.
I don't send off to Dr: doing some self-correlation - AHI against AFDs (Alcohol Free Days), OA against visits to cinema, etc.
So far, alcohol is beneficial and cinema visits not!
It's a bit academic - have brought my AHI down from 37 to about 4.3 average for week, with many days at 1.0, and sleeping well.
