Found an awesome sleep Doc! - Want2SleepInMT - 09-30-2016
After being "fired" from my previous sleep provider, because we didn't agree on my treatment, I finally got in with another provider. I drug my laptop with me, and showed sleepyhead to her, along with every single day printout from EncorePro..... She took her time going through things with me, and even though she isnt necessarily a fan of auto setting, she could see why it was a better option for me, as I have a pretty big swing in pressure needs from night to night. I compromised, and upped my lower pressure from 7 to 9 since she was willing to "let me drive" so to speak. (And I was watching closely, and had come to the same conclusion lol) I follow up in three months, and I'm feeling greatly optimistic about her practice. My mother wants to switch Drs as well, as the more we find out about the supervising sleep dr at our local sleep center, the more it creeps me out that he watched me sleep.

I had to check to see if you lived in my locale as your story started off sounding like mine.
Having a good working relationship with all our medical professionals is vital.
My specialist threatened to "fire" me too.. but given my success for treatment was urgent due to needing my professional and personal driving licences reinstated I couldn't afford to take the time to start from scratch with a new specialist.
The two problems I was having was the specialist's failure to listen to me, and his failure to provide timely information to my lawyer who was handling my licence appeal case.
When he threatened to no longer treat me I told him he needed to listen to me, and to also not ignore my lawyers phone calls, fax and email requests for updates and information.. I must have hit home with him with my points as he lifted his game and started to deal with my situation with the appropriateness it required.
Good for you with ensuring you find medicos who will work with you on your health, not just treat you like yet another patient in a long faceless line they see every day.

Awe add in another 1200 miles and you could see my sleep Doc too. She comes to the town 45 miles from me, one day a month, 250 miles from me 3 days a month, and the rest of the time, she works for the VA. I would willingly drive across Montana to see her!
