Resmed A10 Climate Hose Not Holding Mask Hose - player - 10-08-2016

My A10 hose rubber end fitting seems to have stretched and now the mask hose pops out on it's own. Anyone experience this? Is there a DIY fix?

Thanks

No fix.

Get a new hose and be more careful next time not to stretch it.

You can use electricians tape on the mask to increase diameter and it will hold. A good rubber band or zip-tie may also keep it secured. This has been reported fairly frequently. Ultimately you will need a new hose, but these fixes will work. Try to avoid disconnecting so often, or at least don't stretch the connection end by pulling at an angle rather than straight off.

Hi player,
psychomike has a thread here on this board called ""ClimateLine" issues."
He has a solution that will help you.
Good luck with your temporary fix, 'till you are able to get a new hose.

The zip tie works well. My Climateline was held on by a zip tie all last winter. The only thing that I did not do was to knock down the sharp edges with an emery board which is a good idea. Frankly, I view this as more than a temporary fix. This may be a baling wire and chewing gum fix but I see no need to throw away a hose that is perfectly good in all other ways. I have gotten a second Climateline hose as a back-up just in case.

Best Regards,

PaytonA

The mistake I made was fitting it (stretching it) onto my kitchen sink tap and running super hot water through the hose.

Hmmm, I don't recall seeing that method in the cleaning instructions. This is self-inflicted, but using a zip-tie, pipe clamp or similar should still work.

Well, how old is the hose? These are supposed to be replaced every 3 months if memory serves me. If it is worn it is time for a new hose for sure. I have two of the climate hoses and neither of them do this. I don't use them anymore due to sanitation issues. They are tough to clean properly and I don't need to be breathing in mold or mildew spores, that defeats the purpose of the thing. So for the sake of ones health replace it. The hose is telling you it is time. Now, if the hose is only a week old then that is an issue. Then I might blame the mask interface.

The hose is a year old. When you buy this stuff out of pocket it is tough to throw away a good hose...
