Exhausted / have leak rate of 28.1 - aconcepts - 03-17-2017

Hi All

Been getting tired and lacking energy. Found out this morning that my leak rate is 28.1. Would wake up with my machine blowing like crazy. This morning I feel terrible. Feeling panicky. Please help.

Is this mouth breathing?

I have been using nasal pillows for 4 years and never had a leak rate problem?

Where do I start?

Hey there Phil!  Welcome to Apnea board.  It's somewhat difficult to give advice without a glance at the underlying data!  Could you clarify your machine type for us so we can tell if it's data-capable?  It might be my phone, but I can only make out 'Resmed' on your profile.  

As for the leak, you may want to have a glance at bonjour's Mask Primer.  It has a lot of tips and tricks to help with mask fitting.  There is also a Thread that might also be helpful!  

Once we know what kind of machine you have, and if it's data capable then the next step is to post some data so we can see what's going on.

Don't be panicky! This is a great spot for help.

What model of pillows do you have?
What makes you suspect a mouth leak?
Where is the leak?
How much time over the max leak rate?
Was that number the Max leak rate?
Was that number the 90% leak rate?
Based on your charts what events are associated with the high leak rate? 
Are there any other issues that you are not mentioning?
What does your Flow Limit look like?
What do your snores look like?


Please post your Sleepyhead charts and tells us all the details about your leak.

Thanks Bonjour! I downloaded sleepyhead a while ago. But how do I access the chart to take a screenshot.
my documnets/sleepyheaddata - then there are many files. When I click on them widows says they cannot be opened.

Open a IMGUR account
Copy your screenshot IMGUR
click on the image you want to post in IMGUR
in the popup (lower right corner) click on "Large Thumbnail"
The click the copy for "Linked BBCode"
Paste into your post

You need 4 posts so add a space to breakthe link for now

Pay attention to the organization section, that will help to pick the right graphs.
