Recording oximeter for overnight use - BrassCat - 05-07-2017 Hello the forum, Seems most here are trusting the AHI and periodic breathing numbers presented by their cpap / BiPaP machines. I had an AHI around 4.5 when I used the labss recording oximeter overnight, then found my oxygen went down to 79%. I lost a lot of confidence in AHI's from that experience. I want to get a recording oximeter so I can track my apnea in addition to AHI and periodic breathing. Will medicare cover this. What is a decent model for home use, not commercial use. Thanks, Stan RE: Recording oximeter for overnight use - OpalRose - 05-08-2017 Welcome to the Forum! Try Supplier #19 for overnight recording oximeters. This one seems to be popular, CMS-50F Recording Wrist Oximeter. [attachment=3450] Also, download the #SleepyHead software to track your therapy. Medicare doesn't normally cover oximeters. RE: Recording oximeter for overnight use - Hockenberry - 05-08-2017 I got a CMS50D+ with a hospital type external fingertip sensor, for $74.88, at a site called Medical Test Supply, nice folks, fast service. RE: Recording oximeter for overnight use - quiescence at last - 05-08-2017 I asked my doctor to prescribe the home model discussed, and they said these are not considered medical grade, so not a prescribable item. So, I just bought one - I wanted to know. remember the AHI is a count of events severe enough to consider. But, there are different lengths for events. You know - if I have 1 event but 12 minutes long - that is more of a problem than 36 that are 20 seconds long. One is terminal. he he. You can search in Google Play for the App. The App also integrates with Fitbit. |
