No return from online suppliers - CPAPreturnee - 05-09-2017

Paraphrased from online suppliers:
Due to the Food Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, once any product is open or taken out of its original packaging, it is no longer returnable. Therefore in order to comply with these regulations, if either any equipment or any supplies have been open and/or used, the item(s) is no longer returnable – there will be no exceptions.

This is nothing new to members here except for us newbies.  Of course you don’t want to pass contamination, viruses and germs to next user so this is for safety, and I totally get that.  On line suppliers state ”our expert trained staff stands by ready to assist you to get the right mask”.  As an analogy, imagine going to a shoe store, having salesman measure your feet with a Bannock Device (Google it), then must BUY shoes before trying them on. Once on your feet, no returns if pinches, wide, wobbly.

So guess I will have to buy locally where someone can measure my face, use nose cutouts etc and cross my fingers mask works, minimal leakages, comfortable at night.  If I hit the jackpot then I can buy online parts liners etc with a prescription (assuming my sleep doctor/nurse will give me another one)

Wa, wa, wa poor little me. Eat-popcorn

ER....my understanding is that most online vendors do allow a 30 day return policy on used masks. Are you saying this has changed for ALL vendors?

From What I am reading on the sites shown in this apnea board supplier lists after five or six readings.

Supplier 1, first mask I looked up

Quote:Free Return Insurance

This insurance allows you to return this item to us within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the product's purchase price.

Return insurance makes sense if you are trying out new masks, new sizes of your current mask or if you simply want the option of returning the mask for a refund.

Please Note: Free return insurance is only available within the contiguous U.S.

What you are reading is their basic return policy for all products. You need to dig a little further.

Most offer a 30 return policy on "select" masks.

Some require you purchase mask insurance to take advantage of their 30 day return policy.

Others offer a "free" 30 return policy, but you pay to ship it back.

Thank you for the clarifications. Makes me feel better.
Anybody Google Bannock Device? Makes good trivia question.

And, oddly, nothing to do with delicious fried bread!
