AHI and Sleepyhead score? - DannyG - 05-21-2017

Been tracking my progress with Sleepyhead software. My AHI numbers have generally gotten better from the second day. Only 10 days results but I get a "happy face" everyday. Software shows my numbers from a high of 4.65 to a low yesterday of .14, at what number does the "happy face" go away?

You are not suppose to see a Happy Face unless you have an AHI of 0.0. You are the first I've seen that is experiencing this.

I few minutes later . . . I played with SleepyHead and found that the Happy Face will appear if you turn off some or all the Event Flags. Make sure you have all Event Flags turned on. You will need to refresh your Daily screen by switching from the current day to a previous day and then back.

Also, if you only have one session turned on, and that session had no events...You may see a happy face.

Check on the very bottom, left side bar where it says "sessions."

If you're talking about the happy faces that appear on the machine's screen, one is for leaks and the other is for the humidifier. I'd have to check the clinician's manual to find out the conditions under which they would go away.

But as far as the leaks happy face (mask seal) goes, having the happy face is not sufficient for concluding you have a good leak rate. You have to examine the leak rate graph and see if there are extended periods of time where it's elevated relative to other times. In other words, if it rises and stays there for extended periods of time. This is especially important for those with nasal masks as it could be a sign of mouth leaking.

Still learning about Sleepyhead. When the data first shows up I see a big 0.0 and then the "smiley face", but then in the orange banner headed by AHI I get the average.

The reason I ask is the hardest then to get used to with my therapy is the pressure spikes for the centrals and I was wondering if my numbers could be "fine tuned" to help that?
