Total disconnects in dream station - garywych - 05-23-2017

What do total disconnects mean? I'd assumed it meant quite literally. It often says between 1 and 4 total disconnects with zero large leaks. Yet the mask fitted well and I did not take it off during the night, last night, did not get up or take it off and it fitted well with a slightly leak at the mouth, but it reported 4 total disconnects. Also even at a higher pressure my AHI was 8.8. After 5 hours sleep it was 6.6 and i put it back on for an hour but don't think I slept but it went up to 8.8. Any ideas?

Where do you see this message?  Are you using software?  I think your AHI is a bit high, and your pressure range may need to be adjusted.

Download the #SleepyHead software and then post a screenshot of the daily page.

Follow the tutorials in my signature line, in order to organize the graphs and post here.  This way, we can see your data and better advise.

Disconnects show how many times the machine senses when the mask is disconnected. If you are not removing your mask, the large leaks are causing the machine to think your mask is off. The machines cannot supply enough pressure and air volume once the leaks are greater than 24l/m (on Resmed Machines not sure about PR's) You should download sleepyhead from the links above, it will show you in great detail what is happening to you while asleep!!
