Full face bearded man - smiledog - 05-31-2017

Hey everyone, I'm looking for a full face mask that I can use when my allergies act up or I have a cold. I am a full bearded man. I use the Dreamwear mask now and love it. But it's hard to use when I'm congested.

Gee, that is easy! Don't let yourself get congested. .......Just kidding. I am sorry. I could not help myself. I have been very lucky and have not had a cold in the 6 years that I have been on VPAP. I do have allergies and get congested from that so I am at least somewhat familiar with that. I have a beard and mustache too but it is not a full beard.

I get few leaks with the Mirage Quattro and the F20 FFMs. Member bonjour has a full beard and he reported good results with the Amara View. Hope this is some help.

Best Regards,

PaytonA

Do I qualify?
Seriously, we are all individual, unique, and different.  What works for one will not necessarily work for another.  It depends on where the mask sits on your face.  The best FFM I have found FOR ME is the Amara View.  Really more of a hybrid than a traditional FFM, and if you are having issues, one you should consider because it seals differently than every other FFM.

There is always the tape option.

I find that I can work thru most colds with my P10.

That being said review the Mask Primer (in my signature) and see if any ideas pop.

And if you don't find a mask that works, you might try saline irrigation of the sinuses to help rinse out infectious material and mucus.

Also, the tears in your eyes drain through your sinuses. Using preservative free eye drops (ex Systane in individual packets) may help moisturize and loosen material sticking in the lower sinuses.

If congestion is a frequent occurrence for you, discuss with your healthcare provider how to manage this.

Thanks Bonjour.
I took the plunge and ordered one. I've been going back and forth between the Wisp and P10. I really like the P10, but get occasional irritation in my nostrils and need to take a break.
Congestion from allergies is a huge deal certain times of the year, but the leakage from the Quattro kept me awake (eye and chin area).

Should be here in a few days!
