Bill RE: What kind of PAPist are you? - Shift Worker - 06-19-2017 A Wannabe papist? Still on hold from a sleep Dr. who is on her own agenda! I will have faith, my sleep cannot get worse then no sleep (feels like no sleep!) I really like the positive but realistic posts on this forum. Shift Worker RE: What kind of PAPist are you? - chigirl - 06-19-2017 Definitely Agnostic. I've got my AHI below 1 the vast majority of nights. I'm sleeping through the night and only wake up when the mask leaks in the early AM. I average over 7 hours of sleep each night. I've been at this for 6 months and don't really feel any different. In fact, I think I actually hit the snooze button more than I did prior to PAP. But like robysue, I keep plodding away waiting for that moment where I'm like...oh this is what they mean. I was really sure I had sleep apnea when I went for my assessment in August last year. It was late March this year when i get my APAP. Way too long. Stupid long. RE: What kind of PAPist are you? - storywizard - 06-19-2017 Evangelical PAPer Through sheer persistance and 3 different machines I have seen the light. At least no more gagging wakeups and, miracle of miracles no need to use any sleep meds of any nature including medical marijuana...truly miraculous... Wish the energy was better, but I have a few medical side issues getting in the way of energy, but at least I can breath and sleep...... Storywizard RE: What kind of PAPist are you? - Raven87 - 06-20-2017 I would say at this early point in my PAPing walk that I would be more of an 'Emerging/Progressive' PAPist. I believe the PAPing message for the most part, have seen it work in my own life, but still think there's more goodness to come! I also believe that PAPing is a very personal experience for everyone and, that every PAPist has a place and it is not for me to judge someone for PAPing differently than I do but rather to accept and embrace that our differences make us stronger together! RE: What kind of PAPist are you? - Timur - 06-20-2017 Loving this thread! Raven, I feel the same way as you, under the PAPist "umbrella" there is room for all of us, and what works for one might not work for another. Some of us "believe" in CPAP. Some have "seen the light" and follow APAP. There are those who swear by the RAMP, and some found salvation in EPR. Not to mention the Bipapers and ASVers. There are many paths to PAPing, it is a profoundly individual relationship with PAP. So I would call myself an Ecumenical PAPist. Whatever gets you through the night, (on the hose), is all right. RE: What kind of PAPist are you? - Raven87 - 06-20-2017 Yes, Timur, yes indeed! |
