ResMed AirCurve 10 VAUTO - Aknakon - 06-19-2017

ResMed AirCurve 10 VAUTO: This is my new equipment since my Dr. wants the bipap options. I'm currently set at 15 inhale 12 exhale. When I was using CPAP 15 with EPR 3 my mask was being blown off my face. Does anyone else use this equipment If you do any tips that would help me?

The only thing I would recommend if you are having mask problems at that pressure, is to look into other masks. What mask are you using now?

There are mask fitting videos on youtube and bonjour has a good link in his signature on mask fit. As well as the mask fit function on the machine, that blows a higher pressure of air to test and adjust it..

I just changed recently to the ResMed AirTouch F20 it has a memory foam.

I would now suggest you post some sleepyhead charts,
I would download the clinical manual from the top of the page and switch to auto mode.

edit, I messed up about the 2 epap settings. For your current script, you would have epap 12. min PS 3 and max PS could now be set at 10, which may be enough.
Put up a sleepyhead chart for help with fine tuning the pressures, the epap is normally raised if there are OA still

I would start with min epap 9, max epap 15
min ps 3 max ps whatever the dial turns up to, I think it would go to max ps 10 or 15
(this min 9 epap and min pS 3 will be ipap 12, so 3 under what you have now. This will let the auto function work a bit.)

Ajack, it's an Aircurve 10 Vauto...single PS setting in auto mode, so maybe EPAP min 9.0, PS 3.0, IPAP max 15.0?  Your comment seems directed toward ASV.

RE: ResMed AirCurve 10 VAUTO - ajack - 08-05-2017

my mistake, I thought avap had a variable epap, as well as the variable PS. For some reason I thought the avap had 2 epap. So it's the same as the S and ST and has one epap setting. Thanks for setting it straight or Aknakon would have been scratching his head for a week, looking for the max epap setting. I edited the post to save confusion

So now that I have changed masks I have been closely monitoring the net results.

Here is what I am finding: The ResScan gives a different number then SleepyHead for the exact same set of data. Using a recent date I got a sleepyhead reading of 0.13 plus 0.18 for an AHI of 0.31 however my ResScan for the same day with all factors the same gave me this: 0.2 plus 0.6 for an AHI of 0.8

For another day I get 0.1 vs 0.5 or 0.27 vs 0.8 etc ResScan SEEMS to be the consistently higher number

Any incite ?
