Cervical not working? Try this. - Walla Walla - 09-13-2017

I was using a Cervical Collar and it worked some of the time. But there were times I'd get clusters of OA's showing up. About a week ago I bought another collar. This one had a little more of a cutout for the chin to fit into. I was averaging 2.0 API before and now I'm averaging 0.35.

Before you give up on the idea of a collar make sure it's supporting under your chin far enough to prevent your chin from dropping down. You may just have the wrong Collar.

I think it's a valid point that sometimes when we recommend a cervical collar, some people go 'over the top' and get something really rigid. The best results have usually come from a comfortable fit, with ample circumference and height to allow some movement that is just limited enough to prevent the obstruction, without impinging on the airway. Glad to hear you found your solution, and hope you continue to help others to find theirs.
