Need help choosing a nasal mask. Recent cut on nose is irritated by my P10 - KimberlyF - 09-23-2017

Can anyone recommend a comfortable nasal mask? I've been using the AirfitP10 which I love. But I accidentally cut my nose on the inside (with my fingernail) very near to the front part where my mask lays each night. It's very irritating and it's been over a month and it still hasn't healed. ? (I'm going to see my doctor to see if it's infected.)
However I am looking for a recommendation for a mask to use while it's healing. Like a pillow or something that only barely touches the outside of the nose.
The worst part is I'm going in for hip replacement surgery in about 6 weeks and the surgeon says I must get this possible source of infection under control.

I have a full face mask but it leaks very bad. Very noisy like a train. ??

Any help would be appreciated.

Swift FX Nano? I don't have one, but it has good reviews by LankyLefty (am I allowed to cite YT reviews?) on Youtube. Evidently, it doesn't have a plastic shell, just silicon nasal mask.

Haven't used the P10 but I swear by my Swift FX.   Just contacts the bottom of my nostrils and is VERY comfortable

The DreamWear by Philips Respironics has a small opening that sits underneath your nose. There is nothing that comes in contact with the interior (unless you get the gel version which has little prongs that sit against your nose - although those may work too, depending on where the cut is situated).

If it hurts just to touch your nose than your better off with the full face mask. Check out http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=Mask_Primer It might help with fitting your mask. Also check out the mask maker's web site for information and tips for mask fitting.

What she said. I have one I'm currently alternating with a P10, so as to not always have the same contact point with the nares, columella, philtrum, etc.

This is a case where I would suggest a Full Face Mask.  The ResMed AirTouch comes to mind.  The concept would be to totally avoid the bottom of the nose.  MOST nasal masks should work, but as with any mask they MUST be tried on under pressure and preferably in sleeping position.

Because you need to resolve this quickly I'd call your DME and say that you need an Urgent mask fitting,  Is today ok?
