Philips Respironics REMstar Auto 560P - Service Required - kyley - 09-24-2017

Hi All,
My CPAP is giving the Service Required message, and I'm trying to get it working again. I hadn't used it for months (because I have a newer one that I use regularly), but it wouldn't work when I tried it recently on a trip. I took it apart and tried to clean it (it's not very old and was very clean), but it still won't work. Shortly after plugging it in, it beeps repeatedly and say Service Required, but no specific error message. However, if I press therapy right away, it *will* run just fine (so the motor, board, etc. are apparently functional). Shortly after I stop it, it displays the Service Required message though.

I don't see an error code, but if I look at the SD card, there is a properties.txt file that says:
ErrorKey=00110400b87a

Any ideas on what this might mean and what the fix might be? Again, it seems to be *functional*; just refuses to work with the error message.

Also:
ModelNumber=560P
ProductType=0x35
Family=0
FamilyVersion=4
SoftwareVersion=V3.03
BasicKey=631601070f75
DetailsKey=99a0023928a8
ValidCheck=8507

Thanks!

Time to call your DME or authorized repair station for guidance ...

If your insurance requires a substantial copay or deductible, and your machine (most likely) is out of warranty, your bet bet is to grab the Respironics Dreamstation Auto DSX500T11 ($330) or Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset ($440) off of Amazon, and don't look back. New advanced machines with heated humidifier and heated hose. If you can afford the difference, get the Resmed.

Hi kyley,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
It sounds like a new machine is in order.
Good luck with CPAP therapy, hang in there for more responses to your post.

Error Codes:

Thanks, but the only error code I see is the one I mentioned in my post (ErrorKey=00110400b87a) from the SD Card's properties.txt file - that doesn't seem to match any of those error codes.

I was hoping there would be some ideas on how to fix it / get it working without the error code (or at least what the problem might be). Like I said, it *works* if I turn on therapy as soon as it powers on, so there doesn't really seem to be anything physically wrong with it. Sad

I don't want to buy another one. I have a newer one and would like to be able to use this one when traveling. Any ideas other than buying a new one?

Also, what does DME stand for? The place I purchased it from says they can't service it or send it in for service (their policy). Calling Philips Respironics, they say that I have to send it in through the place we purchased it. So neither appears to be an option! Sad Where would I find an authorized repair center? Thanks,
