But honestly, In the USA, DME's are not paid to babysit your cpap machine, nor would they take it upon themselves to make changes to it without your doctor's authorization. DMEs are not God's gift to the green Earth. If they change it without prior authorization from your doctor, I would consult an attorney.
I recently changed DMEs and they were flabbergasted when I refused to bring in my CPAP machine. I was just asking for supplies. When the person I was there to see left the room to get more supplies I looked over their notes on my file. Some of the "post-it notes" on my file said, "Pt is arrogant", "refused to bring in machine."
Whatever.
Give me the supplies I am required to get by my insurance or I will buy them mail order.
