As of December 7th, 2017, ResMed has released a new version of the ResScan software.  Please note this version will only work on Windows and will only work for ResMed  brand CPAP machines.

The new version is ResScan 5.9.

Please see this thread for information on how to obtain the new version:

(login required, if need be, please register for a free forum account HERE)

Since ResMed does not release a changlog listing what specific changes or updates have been done in this new version, we have no idea how this new version differs from previous versions.

If anyone has issues or comments about this new version, please reply in this thread.

Still hasn't fixed my "Pure Virtual Function Call" error.

Maybe you'll get lucky with ver. 6.0, whenever that comes out.

I wish ResMed would do a changelog on all these releases and provide a way to submit bug reports - it would be somewhat helpful, but then again, (they say) we're not "their customer" - the DMEs, RTs and sleep doctors are.   Rolleyes

RE: New ResScan version 5.9 - SarcasticDave94 - 12-09-2017

I've successfully requested and installed 5.9

Cannot see differences; doesn't matter much as SleepyHead is preferred report tool anyway. I encounter same actions as the previous edition, one user can access and one gives the infamous error "Pure Virtual Function Call".

Just reporting so others see it as operational.

Did you try removing ResScan, cleaning the registry of ResScan references ... and re-loading to ensure that there are no corrupted program elements (exe or dll)?
Did you check system components with SFC /scannow in a command prompt with administrator privileges?

Just downloaded the latest ResScan  version and I see no differences compared  with the old version. Data is displayed exactly the same, no changes I can see.

The installation file size was increased by about 12 MB or so, so something has changed - but since ResMed isn't letting anyone know, we have no clue.  Might simply be some added code for better support for some of their newer Air10, AirCurve or AirSense machines, or simply some bug fixes, but that's just a guess.

Dont-know

RE: New ResScan version 5.9 - laneleonard - 12-14-2017

I installed this version today and all seems to go well until I try to open the application.  I then get the message"pure virtual function called" and reply OK and it stops the applications from opening.  Help!  I am a new member and a 6 month bipap user.
