A week in and could use some suggestions - dsmith14469 - 02-06-2018 I have been on APAP for a week now after having a home test with an AHI of 42. Of course still getting use to the mask but luckily no large leaks. After following the information for others on here I have tried to narrow in my treatment but could use some help to narrow more. Can I get better or is it a wait and get use to the treatment mode right now? Thanks for any help. Dean RE: A week in and could use some suggestions - Sleeprider - 02-06-2018 This looks pretty good, and your statistical history is useful data that shows some good progress. My first recommendation is to reduce your Flex setting to 1. I think you are somewhat sensitive to pressure changes, and your minimum pressure appears to be correct. I'm almost tempted to try a fixed single pressure like 10.5, but for now let's try 8.5-11.0 and see if that helps quiet some of the noise along with Flex at 1. RE: A week in and could use some suggestions - trish6hundred - 02-06-2018 Hi dsmith14469, WELCOME to the forum.! Good luck with CPAP therapy. RE: A week in and could use some suggestions - Rcgop - 02-06-2018 No help on settings, just don't get discouraged. It takes time and a lot of patience RE: A week in and could use some suggestions - dsmith14469 - 02-07-2018 Settings for last night: Min 8.5, Max 11, Flex 1 Should I slowly increase my minimum or will that cause more CA? Or should I leave it here and let my body adjust for a week or so? Thanks for the help. Dean RE: A week in and could use some suggestions - Walla Walla - 02-07-2018 I would leave everything the way you have it. Give your body more time to adjust and the CA events should start to go away. I think Sleeprider's advice was spot on and there's no need for further change. RE: A week in and could use some suggestions - Sleeprider - 02-07-2018 The only change I would suggest is reducing the Flex setting to 1. No clear indication of a need for higher pressure, but most people with these low-rate mixed events do better with a bit less Flex. RE: A week in and could use some suggestions - dsmith14469 - 02-07-2018 Thanks, will keep the settings as is for now (Flex is already 1) and check back with results later. Thanks Dean |
