Newbie - EPAP vs. Pressure - dzadecta - 02-11-2018

Hey guys just found this awesome resource and used Sleepyhead last night.

Dumb question -- On "Pressure" graph, what is the difference between the red "Pressure" line and the green "EPAP" line?

The red line is the pressure your inhaling and the green EPAP line is the pressure while your exhaling.

Not a dumb question.  You have a Flex setting on which will drop the pressure up to 2cm upon exhalation, based on flow.

What happened around 2:00 that your pressure went up so high?

Next time post from the Daily page of #SleepyHead.  The links in my signature show you how to organize graphs and what to include.  This way we can better advise if you have more questions.

thanks!! i have no idea. my conclusion from this chart was to up my max to 20 tonight.

i’ve been using a fixed pressure cpap for 2 years set at 9, and oddly it felt waaaaay easier on my breathing then my new dreamstation go. especially during exhale, with no flex options whatsoever.

trying out an apap to self diagnose if i’m still there.

Going by your pressure, 9 is to low.
However, that is only part of the info needed to determine that.

Hi dzadecta,
WELCOME! to the forum.!
Good luck with CPAP therapy, hang in there for more responses to your post.

It would be interesting to see the full chart, I think just on what you have shown. I would raise the min to 10 and put the max at 20

Titration protocols call for Setting your initial pressure at values from 4 to 6 or 2-3 cmH2O below your current settings (9 cmw)
so 7 - 20 cmw initially is what I would recommend.  This will be adjusted.

It is important to post the Sleepyhead daily charts to get the best advice.  Would you rather we guess, ok an educated guess, or go from the facts that a set of daily charts will tell us.
my gut says you will end up closer to what Ajack said above.

Thanks everybody. I got another night of data and had the same increase in pressure happen.
