apap chart evaluation - snorybob - 05-07-2018

[attachment=5729][attachment=5730][attachment=5731]Oh-jeez          Hello!
New member to the club. i am very happy i have found this forum with very good advice. It helped me a lot, After home test , I had 41.6 AHI ,
SD required a titration, DME lent me a resmed autosense for one month and when the prescription got in I bought a new machine ,they set it up
(12cm /18 cm h2o , EPR 3 ) and I was on my merry way.

The hardest part is really getting the right mask. i am on my third one  ,a mirage liberty and trying to get use to the pillows. I will get there .
I am getting rid of my bad habits , back sleeper ( fanny pack /tennis balls -not that bad ) it works ,mouth breather (tongue technique ) and I also wear a cervical collar for my position (ca).
The first 2 nights were not easy .12cm pressure was to much for me, even with the ramp at 6. I called the DME to set the machine at 9cm/h2o,
they could not do it  without a new order from the sd. so I adjusted it myself . Since then I have been raising it 0.2 once a week. Now it is at 11 cm.
i have dropped EPR at 2. My numbers are good (last 30 days AHI 1.26, last night 0.76 ) But like Dave says ,the numbers are just one part of the therapy. Some mornings I get up really tired.

I would appreciate it if someone could look at my SleepyHead charts and let me know if there is room for improvement.

                                    Thank you
                                                       Snorybob.

Pretty impressive results!. Your cervical collar has eliminated OA and AHI is very low. Your respiratory statistics are excellent. There is some excess leak with the full face mask, and that is about the only issue that might be contributing to sleep disturbance. With regard to settings, I might try EPR at 3 to see if it helps with flow limitations and hypopnea, otherwise, nothing else is obvious.

You are using a FFM hyprid Mirage with nasal pillows, and assuming you don't control mouth leaks that seems like a good choice to continue to work with. I have absolutely nothing critical to say of your approach to this point, and hope you find restful sleep with the solutions you have worked out. I guess encouragement is the best I can offer since you seem to be doing everything right.

Sleeprider thanks a lot for your input . Following the good advices from this forum got me these results.

6 months ago I  barely knew what sleep apnea was.

I am soooooooo. bad with computer my charts ended up at the wrong place.

do not know why , sorry ! Oh-jeez

RE: apap chart evaluation - snorybob - 05-17-2018

Hello!
After 4 months and 3 masks later I think I might have found a good one. Resmed f20, amara view ,mirage liberty all good masks but not for me , to many leaks and uncomfortable. I am a big mouth breather and i have tried mostly everything ( chin strap ,tongue technique, cervical collar etc...) so now I have tried the medical tape with a f&p brevida and just hope it wont come to the stapler.  Too-funny   Last night  I had to retape a couple of time ,so I ended up with 2 large leaks.

After following all the good advices that I read here, I am happy to say that my AHI dropped from 41.6 (4 months ago ) to 1 or 2 AHI. This morning sleepyhead was showing 0.36 events. I do not know if it has anything to do wit it but my arrhythmia seems to be under control and  I am starting to feel a lot better(rested).

I forgot to change the setting on the machine from full face to pillows . Does that change the numbers on sh.? I do not know if there is anything to be improve by changing some settings , or how to read the charts.

                     Thank you!

Hi!

Seven months on the machine, feeling a lot better, last month ave. 0.56 AHI. no complaints.

Just curious about my flow rate chart, don't look that good to me, but what do I know?

I would appreciate an evaluation from a specialist in the matter.

                         Thanks

Looks great to me. The small deviations from smooth exhale curves can be heartbeat (pulse) or movement that slightly affects the relaxed natural exhale during sleep. I don't see flow limitation, and while it may not looks like textbook smooth respiratory wave-form, I think that yours is more normal. At least I hope so, because it looks a lot like mine.

Thanks for the reply SR, I like your answer.

Most of the time my Tidal Volume is between 600 &700, is that ok?
