I tie a bandana on my head. The back part of the bandana covers my hair and then the back headgear fits over the bandana. My hair was being damaged from the headgear and this has stopped the damage.

Itching is caused by histamine release from the mast cell in your skin. Antihistamine medications block the release of histamine. Try OTC liquid spray antihistamine on areas of scalp causing symptoms. Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) might help.
