Possible to fix a few small holes in a ResMed ClimateLine - gjw - 01-08-2013
Hi everyone,
It seems that my overactive cat has had a go with my 2 week old hose. As a result, the ClimateLine now has about 5 small puncture-holes from my cats teeth. Anyone now if I can fix these holes with a type glue or such?
Or am I out of luck, and need to purchase a new hose.

It seems like I read here on the board about patching hoses up with tape but hang in there for more suggestions and best of luck to you.

you can also use slimline hose (15 mm) or standard hose (19 mm)
whatever hose you,re using ... make sure to select the correct hose type (slimline or standard)
you might want to check US on-line prices ... great deal cheaper than Australia
usually I buy different stuff (hoses, mask parts, water tank, etc..) to save on shipping costs

Since the ClimateLine is electrical, I agree with Zonk. Replace it.
Then get into the habit of either shutting the bedroom door during the day or covering your unit and hose. If the cat is doing it at night, keep a spray bottle of water (or vinegar water) and spritz the cat when you catch him doing it.
I have a dog who has chewed up 3 masks. The first one was totally my fault. Puppy plus thing with springy hoses? The next one I had left it on the bed. After that, I started winding the hose around the edge of the machine then cover the machine, hose, and mask with my body pillow. He's never pulled it out in this configuration. Luckily I keep spare parts but the third one he destroyed it while on vacation. I had to go without for two nights while I had a spare mask from home shipped up. I had just gotten a new one and hadn't opened the box.

My ceiling fan doesn't work so I hang may hose from it, well out of reach of the kitty.
If she gnaws on when I am using it she gets yelled at.
I stop up the ends too so spiders and other vermin cant get inside.

I tried duck tape but it doesn't work as well as hoped.

Duct tape is quite stiff and doesn't conform to wrinkles and such.
I have an old climateline around here somewhere. I may dissect it.

I think the repairs suggested will work. I would use plumbers tape or another type tape. This shows why it's important to keep an extra hose around, even if it's not a specialty hose, until you can get a replacement.

I just read what Shastzi said below- I forgot all about the wires. I would be very careful.

If the electrical heating element wires are not damaged I would say use the Zonk remedy: "Stretch & Seal" works wonders.
It's a bit finiky but once you get it on right it's great!
If the wires ARE damaged though...replace!

Tx for all the feedbacks. Will see if I can get the heated hose replaced, or if I need, to buy one out of my own package. BTW, kitty attacks the hose while I am asleep.
