question about data card - jwells1201 - 04-23-2019

My supplier says the data card in my Dreamstation Autopap only collects data, and that the Respironics Dreammapper software only collects data. I use my Autopap nightly I cannot sleep without it. Is there any resource available that shows if the data card or dreammapper software have an effect on the autopap performance?

G'day jwells. Welcome to Apnea Board.

From your question, you suspect that the data gathering of the SD card and cell-phone module might be interfering with the efficacy of your machine. Is that correct?

I've never heard of the card or cell module interfering with the machine in that way. However, on most current machines a change of settings (prescription) can be delivered via the card or remotely over the cell module. So if you think your settings are being changed you should definitely query that.

Some people are happy for the DME to monitor and adjust their machines - I'm not one of them. Nobody changes my settings but me!

The software nor data card have no effect on the autopap performance.  However, the data recorded helps you to optimize your treatment to the most effective level. My guess is your supplier is trying to excuse not supplying you with an SD card.  Tell them you want the SD card.
