Dreamwear mask irritation on nose septum - Dean Harman - 08-13-2019

Getting major irritation of nose septum from new Dreamwear mask, now raw skin. Anyone have a solution?

I fixed that by switching to the ResMed N30i. That might work if you are using the DreamWear nasal cushion.

If it’s from the DreamWear full face mask, you could try switching to the ResMed F30 which is a similar style.

Can you try a different size cushion or loosen straps a bit?

I'm a practitioner of switching masks for a few days to relieve pressure point irritation. That plus a tiny dab of Lansinoh to the columella-philtral angle works wonders.

Lansinoh did the trick for me. It's a common treatment for cracked nipples so would work well in this situation.

I've cut out the part of silicone in mine, it actually seals better now.

I had the exact same problem. I really wanted the DreamWear to work, but by the second day that area of the nose and upper lip was red and sore to the touch.

I went the N30i route ... and ultimately the P30i.

G'day mate, do you remember the actual name of the product? I see chemistwarehouse sells the actual nipple cream for $25! A bit pricey - would any other lanolin based cream work the same?

Cheers,

Lansinoh Is the name of the product.  Here in the US, you can purchase at Walmart, Amazon or almost any pharmacy for $8 to $10.

I'm not sure where you can purchase in Australia.

I've got to believe you can get an equivalent lanolin (which comes from sheep, as you may already know) product in Australia. Wink
