Resmed S9 to DreamStation Auto UGHHHH - carbphrek - 08-27-2019

The S9 blower was going on my 6yo machine, Insurance said I am eligible for a new machine. Info & Rx sent off to DME, 3 weeks later I get a box in the mail and its a Philips Dreamstation Auto Pro with humdifier. I had to go into clinical menu and set it up with my Rx, thats fine I like to have that control.

Going on a week of using DS and ughhh but I'm sleeping longer than i have been in quite a few years (also i changed jobs in the last 2 weeks that might account for the longer stress free sleep). My AHI have doubled/tripled using the DS along with the wheezing breathing noise of the machine and add the weirdness of machine In/Expiration flow is causing me to breathe with the machine vs just breathe and machine will match (i'm guessing). I have it on C flex 2, messed with 1 and off settled on 2. The leaks are not bad, once or twice they wake me up but I go right back to sleep. Would love not to wake up all at.

I can send the machine back and get my doc to request a Resmed A10, I had a gut feeling that this DME was going to send me a DS instead of a Resmed.  Before I do that is there any recommendations on working with the DS? I use a FF mask Dreamwear and a Airtouch F20, heated tube, horrible drooling side and back sleeper. The info reported on the Dreamstation in Oscar is overwhelming compared to the old S9.

Ignore all that on the left bar, need to update the machine & parts.

P-R's are slower to respond to OA's than a Resmed. Usually the work around is to increase the minimum starting pressure. This just a guess, but a setting of 8cm should work.

Crimsom Nape's suggestion as good but it seems you find the flex uncomfortable and increased pressure wont change that. Since you say you can exchange the machine for a Resmed autoset I suggest you do that.
