Effect of naps on Oscar and MyAir - rdalby69 - 08-31-2019

I'm sorry if this is a much-asked question but searching using various parameters hasn't produced any results.

How do Oscar and Resmed's MyAir handle afternoon naps?  Do they add the sets of data together, average them etc.?

I notice both software only produce a single daily stat.

PS  I think Oscar is brilliant!   like

In Oscar, all sessions between noon today and noon tomorrow are included in today's stats and results - including afternoon naps. On the daily page you can choose to turn individual sessions on or off using the controls in the left side-bar. If a session is turned off, its results are ignored.

See items 10 and 11 here: http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.php?title=OSCAR_Organization_-_Daily_Page#Left_side-bar

Sorry, I don't know about MyAir.

You are correct. OSCAR allows the user to turn off or on various sleep sessions on the lower left of the Daily Screen . Only the sleep analysis data will be reported for the session(s) that are active. This will allow you to analyze only the nap session or the overnight session.

MyAir is mainly a feel good app. It is designed to encourage the user to stick with the therapy. It doesn't provide the detailed information that allows for a granular analysis. As far as I know, you are not able to isolate each sleep session in a day.

be careful to download the contents of the sd card to oscar just once between noon and noon. if you take a late morning nap, for example, it won't appear in oscar if you've already downloaded earlier in that noon to noon period. if that happens, you have to purge the data for the day and download again.

a similar thing to watch out for is changing pressure settings after the machine has been run after noon. usually it will only report the initial settings.

This happens to mine sometimes when I sleep after noon but download the data that afternoon. Not sure if it is always that scenario but it fits.
