Does anyone know of a source of free classes on using CPAP, support groups, mask fittings, supply samples, etc., near Maryland/D.C.?
Someone said that their hospital offers free classes on CPAP use. There is a lecture, by a sleep professional or by another apnea sufferer, folowed by an opportunity to meet with company reps from the major CPAP machine makers and sleep supply providers. E.g., some reps fit their masks to you, and sometimes give away masks, and other supplies, in hopes of future purchase.
What a great resource! I'd like to find something similar in Maryland, near Washington, D.C.
The ASAA lists an AWAKE support group at the Doctor's Community Hospital, in Lanham, MD, but it closed down a couple years ago. There are a few others in Maryland and Virginia, but they are many hours drive from me.

Google Medstar Georgetown Sleep and George Washington Sleep. Both have extensive sleep medicine centers in DC proper, associated practice professionals in private practice outside of the hospital, and various ancillary services. Even if they don't have exact services you are seeking, they work with local groups/practices who definitely do.
