First time under 5AHI - Elvis - 10-16-2019 [attachment=16257] My 1st ever below 5 AHI. I covet any response on how to maintain, or improve. No idea in regards to staying under 5 AHI. My very first night on CPAP, the AHI was something like 4.3 or 4.7. It's now been over one year of therapy and all my AHI numbers have been well under 5. The lowest so far has been 0.2 or 0.3 I believe. Most seem to hover between 2 and 3. The do seem to be random at times. I quit trying to make sense of them months ago. RE: First time under 5AHI - SarcasticDave94 - 10-16-2019 Congrats on an AHI under 5. How does the therapy make you feel? Better, worse; what do you think could be better, etc. Under 5, it's best to fine tune for best feel and comfort IMO. RE: First time under 5AHI - slowriter - 10-16-2019 Shouldn't this be posted in your existing thread? RE: First time under 5AHI - trish6hundred - 10-16-2019 Hi Elvis, CONGRATULATIONS! on getting your AHI below 5. oh, btw, WELCOME! to the forum!. RE: First time under 5AHI - Elvis - 10-16-2019 Sorry RE: First time under 5AHI - Sleeprider - 10-17-2019 Elvis, it appears your pressure only varied between 12 and 13 cm all night, so you are apparently using Opti-Start and need the higher range of your pressure settings of 8 to 13. Clearly, the minimum pressure never enters into these results, and you might as well make your minimum pressure 12.0. The cluster of apnea at the beginning of the night is either a sleep-wake-junk (sleep onset) or it may be positional. Considering the session as a whole, there are only 5 CA and 2 OA over the remaining 7.5 hours (AHI .93). To maintain these results, consider increasing the range of your PAP settings from 8-13 to 12-15, or just keep things the same and observe results. You may want to look at the sleep onset cluster as not very significant in the context of the whole night. RE: First time under 5AHI - Elvis - 10-17-2019 I can't thank you, and this board enough! This forum and my adjustments accordingly have done much more to lower my AHI numbers than anyone else, including my first Cpap Dr. RE: First time under 5AHI - Elvis - 10-19-2019 Sorry for my slow response. I'm sleeping & feeling a lot better! My settings are AutoB IPAP-13 EPAP-8 PS-4 I might move EPAP up a bit. RE: First time under 5AHI - Toushiro303 - 10-19-2019 Congrats! |
