REMstar Breathing Noises - Greg Schultz - 10-31-2019

My REMstar Auto A-Flex (with Humidifier) has started making a soft noise that matches my inhaling. There is no noise on exhale.  The noise is not loud, but evident enough that I've taken to wearing earplugs. It's a bit like having someone breathing beside you. I've changed masks without any change in the noise. I'm fairly convinced that the noise is from the unit. It sits on a rubber  pad on the floor about 16 inches below my head level.
Anyone else experience this? Any ideas for muffling the sound without blocking air intake? Can something like this be repaired (probably too expensive for me)? I have  about 2500 hours on the system.
Thanks for any ideas.
